Caption Competition Round 17 Results

We must admit, we thought it was all hype. We thought it was just a tactic to boost his already over inflated ego. But no. Gino, 'Mr Caption Competition' has stuck to his word and left the competition, to devastating affects on the table. Sitting pretty at the top last week with a cigar in his mouth one no show sees him drop all the way down to 5th. Surely this can't be the end for Gino? Surely some time in the new year when all the clubland Chrsitmas do's for the over 70's have dried up he will have more time on his hands and will decide to re enter?

Skip took full advantage of Gino's exit and he racked up his third weekly win to take a sizeable lead at the top. "Stuart Pearce discusses personal terms with a transfer target" provides further evidence that he's the man to watch in this competition.

The top five is beginning to break away with PWEI becoming slightly stranded in 6th place but this week should go to show just what a 'no show' can do as it opens up real chances to catch up.

Another average week for Markthemiller and after a high profile spat with Gino last week, he was spotted leaving the Samaritans help centre in Rotherham last week with rumours of him falling back in to his old ways. We can only hope and pray that this isn't the case but with a forthcoming doubles round suicide alert is at red!

Timeforale did ok, worthy of a mention purely because he likes his name up in lights. He's not a big a player in this competition by any means and the bookies will not be moved on his proce of 75/1 to win despite some self touting.

After a very brief flirtation with humour last week Foo has once again donned her 'not funny cap'. Frankly the judges were not amused by her effort. She ought to stick to the washing up and not leave the kitchen. However, off on a slight tangent, Foo's christmas present list was found at Millersmad this week and we were all surprised to see Mike Newell's autobiography at the top of that list!
