David has two children and lists his hobbies as computing, digital photography and playing on his Xbox 360.
He started refereeing in 1999, in Newcastle.
David was promoted to the National List of referees in 2006. he spent two years as a contributory league referee and five seasons at panel league level.
In 2003 he refereed the second leg of the Conference Pay Off Final Morecambe v Dagenham & Redbridge.
He took charge of two games involving the Millers last season both games being at Millmoor, the 3-2 win over Mansfield and the single goal defeat to MK Dons.
This season in the 10 games he has refereed David has shown 19 yellow and 3 red cards.
