Dean started in senior football in 1993 in Northampton and Southern Leagues to reach the National List of Assistant Referees in 2001.
He was promoted to the Referees' List midway through season 2005-06.
The last game Dean took involving the Millers was in the Football League Trophy last season at Don Valley. The game between the same sides was all square at 1-1 after 90 minutes, sending the tie into a penalty shoot-out, with the Millers coming out on top 4-2.
This season Dean has refereed 19 Games, issuing 48 Yellow and 2 Red cards.
