Man In The Middle: Hereford United (A) - Stuart Attwell

In these articles, we try to give a guide to what the referee is going to be like, based on past performance. Well, Mr Attwell doesn't have any past performance: it's his first ever game in the League.

Attwell, from Nuneaton, was one of the senior Conference referees last season, taking charge of 13 games, despite it being his first year on that circuit. As his swift rise up the ranks indicates, he's one of the FA's high flyers and refereed last season's FA County Youth Cup. Given the quality of others on the fast track scheme, like Trevor Kettle (who's now a regular referee for the Championship, unbelievably), fun and games are assured.
