Our major strength in the past has been our capability of fighting with backs to the wall, confounding the experts and pulling together. So it’s a bit sad when the team turn out a “we don’t care” performance and the fans start to grumble at Ronnie Moore.

We can argue until the cows come home about squad sizes, player’s capabilities, new stands and team formations, but we must face the fact that with our current owner nothing towards progress will ever happen.

So we are stuck with an old ground, small attendances, bargain basement players and a time warp Chairman. This makes it doubly important that we the fans are United in name and nature. It’s important that we back the team and we back the manager. If we have to grumble then make sure that the criticism is directed (pun intended) at the right targets.

So don’t call for players to be dropped or Ronnie to go. Campaign for a new owner, shout for the sacking of freeloaders and incompetent staff, but above all remember who we are.

We are UNITED.
