History of the Rotherham United v Morecambe fixture

Rotherham prepare to entertain Morecambe at Don Valley Stadium on Tuesday evening in a seemingly meaningless end of season encounter for the home side with their play off hopes now over.

The most recent encounter between these two sides on South Yorkshire soil was last season, in October 2007, with The Millers running out comfortable 3-1 winners in a League Two match.

Earlier this campaign the Millers won their first away trip of the season back in August, courtesy of Mark Lynch's superb double strike and a curling side foot effort from Ryan Taylor.

Recent respective form guides

Rotherham United are not in the best of form at home, with two wins, two draws, and two defeats in their last six. The goals for column just outweighs the goals against over this period, 8 to 6.

The away form of Morecambe however, is much more impressive, with an unbeaten run in the last six, four of them victories. The games have constituted a decent return of 8 goals for the Shrimps, and 4 goals against.

With the visitors pushing for a play-off spot this is a crucial game in hand they must get three points from.

Team News...
Our visitors are without winger Neil Wainwright, who injured his achilles in the weekend win over Notts County and is out for the season. Mark Duffy is also doubtful with an ankle injury.

The Millers are without Micky Cummins for their final three matches of the campaign after a knee operation, so Danny Harrison is set to continue in midfield.

Elsehwere Mark Robins could rotate the forward line to give fringe players a game with nothing left to play for in the final run in. Jamie Clarke is expected to start as he pushes for a new contract.

Our prediction ...
Away win I'm afraid.
