Influential midfielder Lee Frecklington failed a fitness test ahead of last weekends loss at Ipswich, but could return for PNE.

“He did it against Birmingham the week before I came but it's getting better and it is improving and he has a chance for Saturday, He straps it up and gets on with it and always wants to give himself a chance of competing which is a credit to him and his professionalism.” Jacket told the official club website.
 
Greg Halford and Jon Taylor both came off injured against Ipswich with a a calf and knee problem respectivelty; “We'll see on Thursday and Friday whether Halford and Taylor make it for Saturday, Jon's a hard-working player and didn't want to come off last week but he hasn't trained yet this week and we'll see how he responds in the next 48 hours with regard to the Preston game.” Jackett said.

Tom Adeyemi (quad) has returned to training but wont be ready to feature this weekend. Kirk Broadfoot (foot), Kelvin Wilson (calf) and Jonson Clarke-Harris (knee) continue to miss out.
 
Meanwhile Preston boss Simon Grayson is bolstered by the return to fitness of several important players. Striker Jermaine Beckford came through coming on as a substitute and scoring against Newcastle last weekend, his first appearance since August.

Defender Marnick Vermijl also returned after five weeks out with a hamstring injury late on in that 2-1 defeat and is in contention to start. Republic of Ireland international Aiden McGeady has been back in full training after a hamstring problem.

Stevie May (knee) is still out. Ben Pearson and Alan Browne both sit out suspended.
