Speaking to the Star, Warne couldnt have been blunter on utility man's future with the Millers
Ball joined the club last summer from Spurs on a 3 year deal by that muppet Stubbs, he featured 13 times and had an un successful spell on loan at Peterborough, where he was sent back to the Millers after a falling out with Posh manager Grant McCann. However because the loan deal was for the season, Ball couldnt play for anybody else for the rest of the 16/17 season.
Warne held a meeting with the 21 year old and said; “I asked him what he thought of his season, He said he thought it was all right. I said I thought it was horrendous. If I had had his season, I would have thought it was a waste of a season really."
“I also said to him, if he wants guaranteed football his future might be elsewhere.” he added.
“It was a little bit through his own fault, a little bit not, I expect him to come back pre-season and we’ll take it from there. I said to him, if he wants to be a centre-half . I told him where his weaknesses were. If he comes back and competes, he could potentially be right-back cover."
