It's hoped the addition of former Celtic man Burchill, who signed a two year deal last week with the Don Valley outfit, will be the difference when challenging at the top end of the table.
Breckin told today's Rotherham Star: "He is just what we need and I believe he is someone who will get goals at this level.
"We had him here before a few years ago and me and Ronnie Moore were gutted when he got injured and had to go back to Portsmouth. Mark Robins knows him and he's confident he'll do a good job here.
The Scot netted just once in his previous short stint at Millmoor.
Meanwhile, Breckin embarks upon his midnight charity walk this coming weekend in aid of Rotherham Hospice. It's hoped upto £100,000 can be raised by the 1,000 participants, in a 15 mile event broken down into a 10 and five mile effort.
