Speaking to the Advertiser, Brogan said; "I thought I did OK against Darlington but I would sacrifice that for three points, I'm happy to be playing and I always give my best a but if it means winning and me not playing so well then I'd take that because it's all about the team and getting promotion straight back."
"The Darlington match was a big one. If you want to be up there in the top two or three then you have to beat all the top teams, especially at home, and that was what was so disappointing about last week. We've only took a point from the last two home games and that's just not good enough if we want to be up there challenging and with the standards we've set here."
"We are as good as anyone in this league and when we are playing at home we should be collecting three points. There's no getting away from that fact. One point from two home games isn't good enough and it just puts more pressure on us at Wrexham this weekend."
Looking at his own career so far, Brogan is realistic of what is expected; "This is the first season I've started as a recognised professional. People are expecting things and rightly so. I've been given my chance and I've got to deliver, It's no use turning up and being a bit-part player. I've got to perform. I'm 19 and it's a big age for me." he said.
Looking back at last weekends defeat against Darlington, Stephen said; "When I went home to watch the England game I was on a low automatically all night. It's just not a nice feeling, We were talking in the dressing room afterwards and everyone was gutted because they know we can win those games. If ever it stayed 1-0 then we were going to score but once they got that second then it was game over."
"I thought we were the better team overall. They didn't create that much but what they did create they finished. They came here and did a job on us whereas we couldn't get that final piece at the other end. They had experienced professionals and it's always difficult."
"The result might concentrate a few minds and we might go on and win five on the bounce, but you're still disappointed with a 2-0 home defeat. We just have to carry on now. We should be looking to win three of four of the next five of six games."
