After a relatively poor spell at Millmoor, the 22 year old former Charlton trainee was keen on a move away after claiming to be unable to settle in the north and believes Southend was the right move for him. "I was in the first eleven at Rotherham and the gaffer told me he wanted me to stay at Millmoor but I had my reasons for wanting to go. Moving down South was where I wanted to be at and hopefully the few fans that were here today have seen what I can bring to Southend."
Campbell-Ryce previously went on record in the local press only last week talking about his torment and pain at having to leave Rotherham, which was the 'club he loves'.
Millersmad wish Campbell-Ryce all the best in the future.
