MillersMAD can bring you the exclusive news that the 61 year-old will be appointed on a four and a half year deal with the hope of leading the Country to the World Cup finals in South Africa, with an option to extend the deal which initially could be worth around £6m a year, however he does have an 'opt out' clause after 2010.
This is Capello's first managerial job on the International stage, having won nine league titles at club level, coaching AC Milan, Real Madrid, Roma and Juventus.
He also won the Champions League with Milan in 1994.
Capello will be formally unveiled at a news conference on Monday and his first game in charge will be the friendly with Switzerland at Wembley on Wednesday 6th February.
