The 23-year-old skipper has been out of action since early December after breaking his collarbone in the 1-0 win over Aldershot, which saw him go under the knife.
But the defender is back in light training and determined to help the Millers, who are currently in second place in League Two, finish the job and win promotion.
"I have come back into the dressing room, taken a bit of stick off the lads and I'm getting back in the swing of it, which is always good," Cresswell told Press Association Sport.
"The surgeon said there was no problems with the operation so I'll do some light training, then have some more X-rays and if I get the all-clear I will start contact training in three weeks. Hopefully I'll be playing in four weeks.
"I want to get back in the team and push us on up the table and get promotion."
