"It's a good deal for Rotherham United and now Jamie has to prove he's worth a longer one" said Robins, talking to the 'Tiser.
"He's young, hungry and he wants to do well. He's played at this level before and he's a very quick striker who plays down the middle but he can also play wide and we'll have to take a look at him in that position."
Clarke himself said: "I want to go as far as I can with Rotherham United. They've given me a chance so it's up to me to show them what I can do and earn a longer-term contract."
Robins continued: "We had a few targets but we made no cash offers. All I'm trying to do at the moment is freshen up the squad and assist the lads we already have.
"We've two games a week virtually every week for the rest of the season and we need the bodies."
