The skipper points out his frustration of being injured since the Torquay game, in which he scored.
His injuries have meant he's only played 9 times this season, and he told The Star he wants to get back quickly and put the caldendar year behind him.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel. I have done a lot of sessions in the gym and swimming to keep my fitness up. It is almost like a mini pre-season for me. I’m just doing whatever I can to make the ankle stronger.
“When you are injured, you are frustrated as a player but you try not to let it get to you. I am not nice to be around when I am injured. When I go home after a game on a Saturday, I get so frustrated because I can’t do anything to help out the lads. You just feel helpless.
“On a match day, you don’t feel part of it when you are injured even though you are part of the squad. You feel like a bit of an outsider.”
Cressy added: "The club have been really good with me. The physio and the fitness coach are working all hours with me so hopefully I’m looking at returning to full contact training next month.
“I hope my luck changes in 2012. All I can do is get on with it and push to get back to full fitness. If I played a game before the New Year, that would be a bonus but realistically I think it will be the beginning of January.”
