The Millers are not in action as their scheduled League One clash with Preston on Saturday has been rearranged owing to North End's involvement in the FA Cup.
It means several of Evans' squad that have been playing through the gruelling festive schedule with illness and injury receive welcome time to recover.
"It's good that a few players who have had a lot of game time can have some time off," said Evans to the PA.
"If you look at our teamsheet, it's been very consistent and apart from injuries and suspensions it's been very irregular for us to change things.
"There are some players who will benefit from the break. We didn't want it but with the benefit of hindsight it might come at the right time."
Lee Frecklington, Craig Morgan, Kari Arnason, Ben Pringle and Matt Tubbs, who has returned to Bournemouth at the end of his loan spell, have been battling a virus, while Michael O'Connor is not fully fit following a troublesome thigh injury.
Evans is also working on his squad with several ins and outs expected in the coming week, with David Worrall already joining Oldham.
