Evans, speaking exclusively to the Advertiser said: “Last Saturday was unacceptable. It shocked me. My teams have taken beatings before and they will do so again but never have I felt as sick to the stomach as I did at 5pm last Saturday.
“If that was a one-off I will be happy with that, but I don't want it to be a two-off. We had the players in on Sunday and Monday to go over it and there were sad faces and humble apologies.
“We let everyone down and we certainly owe our travelling supporters a good performance tomorrow.
“I left the safest job in British football to come to Rotherham and the day before I left I was offered a ten year contract by Crawley. Tony Stewart understands the expectations here and so do I and it is good to have his backing.”
