After being let down by a striker last week, Evans has his eye's on a new target and after talks with chairman Tony Stewart about tabling a bid which could break the Millers £150k record for the player.
Evans told the Advertiser; “This guy is in his early 20s and he's currently with a Championship club. He's had experience of League One and he's got a Premier League background. There's three or four more teams at the table for him so we'll see how it goes.”
“In an ideal world I will have a couple more new faces in before the start of the season, a midfielder as well as a defender who could play right across the back line, preferably a left-sided central defender who can play left-back. We've got people who can fill in there, and Dale Tonge was our best player in the last game of the season against Northampton before he got injured.”
