Talking to the 'Tiser, Evans is keeping his feet firmly grounded and played down the talk of promotion with the club in third place at the midway point of the season.
He explains: “We sit third in the table, the last of the automatic promotion places, but it is going to take one monumental effort by everyone at Rotherham United to win promotion given the strength of the teams in the division this season.
“Some weeks we may think promotion is a formality but in reality it won't be and, of course, it will be the opposite when you will think one result has stopped our ambitions. Again, in reality that will not be the case.
"Tomorrow (against Barnet) is a big game for us. It’s a game we will look to win and hopfully there will be another big crowd there to cheer us on."
