The boss watched yesterdays 6-0 win from beind the vacant goal at Green Lane as he continues his recovery from a virus, and saw a good workout for his side before they jetted off for some sunshine.
The squad will take in some relaxation but also train twice a day before playing Oldham on Wednesday, ahead of their Thursday flight back home.
Evans told the clubs official website: "I would like to thank our supporters who turned up in good numbers to see the match. I watched the match from behind one of the goals, largely as I am still recovering from being ill and I did not want to pass on any unwanted germs. Many things in the match pleased me and at times the quality of our football was a joy to watch.
"We achieved our main objective in that we got most of the players 45 minutes of action and came through with no injuries. Anyone who watched the match will know the final scoreline could have been doubled but it was not about that. I would like to thank the lads at Parkgate FC and wish them every success in the season ahead, the match was played in a great spirit and it is certainly something we will do again in the future.
"Michael O' Connor will be missing for a couple of weeks with a groin strain but he will work hard in the gym with our physiotherapist Denis Circuit, whilst Dale Tonge will be missing for around a week with a slight thigh strain. These little niggling injuries are the normal in pre-season at all clubs but we obviously try and keep them at a minimum", Evans added.
