The second round draw means the reward for beating neighbours Sheffield Wednesday is a trip to Villa Park w/c 26th August, which will be a repeat of the first ever final in the competition back in 1961.
“It is a fantastic draw for the club,” the manager told themillers.co.uk.
“We really wanted a Premier League side and that is just what we have got. Aston Villa is a great club which is steeped in history and I am looking forward to seeing a man I know very well, fellow Glaswegian Paul Lambert.
“It is a few weeks away but I am sure it is a game that the fans are looking forward to, and I am sure that whatever the result it will be a great night for them. What I do know for certain is that whatever the ticket allocation is, the Millers fans will travel in big numbers and make plenty of noise.”
