The Millers recent record in the FA Cup is well, pants.. With just one win in the last 5 years, tomorrow's game at Barrow is a platform for improvment Danny Harrison tells the Tiser.
“I've reminded the gaffer that it's one win from one with me as captain this season, so I'll see how we go. Our record in the FA Cup is not brilliant but there's no better time to go on a cup run because it would be good to take a win into our next league game and get on an unbeaten run of five, six or more."
“I know a few lads who play non-league and they say it's not nice at all up there but this is the FA Cup first round and when you get an away draw like this, you just have to go and take in the atmosphere, work your socks off and see where it gets you."
“The gaffer has experience of Barrow in the FA Cup, It might work well for us that he has got that bit of knowledge because, no disrespect, I'm not sure many of the lads will know much about them as a team.”
Harrison then spoke about the captaincy; “You feel a little of responsibility because you're looking after your own game as well as trying to watch other people but you can't get too carried away with that; everyone knows their jobs. We'd been drilled all week and knew what we were doing and I think for the most part we went out and executed the game plan quite well."
“It was nice honour to have but what matters is the win. With the run we've had, we'd have taken a victory in any shape or form.”
"They didn't cause us too many problems. They'd come off a good run so we knew it would be hard but we deserved to win and a few lads came in who hadn't been involved and did themselves proud."
“We did the work in the first half. It went a bit ragged in the second half but I think that was just us being a bit jittery to get the points. It's been a long time coming but that's the sort of catalyst you need to go on and get the sort of run going we had at the start of the season. You couldn't underestimate how important it was really. Instead 11 without a win, it's now four unbeaten. That sounds good and it's helps the confidence of everyone.”
