Head2Head & Early Team News - Gillingham (A)

Alan Knill's men will be confident of maintaining an unbeaten league record of six games heading into the clash with their mid table opponents at the Priestfield Stadium.

Opposing manager Ronnie Jepson today said that the Millers would be hard to break down and would be in his team's face, should be an interesting encounter then! Both defences do have a tendancy to leak goals, so this could well be about who holds their nerve at the back, as well as the key battle of young starlets Matty Jarvis and Will Hoskins.

Jarvis (left), having just rejected a new contract last week with the club, is set for a money spinning move in the January transfer window. Speculation about Hoskins is also rife and the 12 goal forward is expected to enter contract talks in the next month or so at Millmoor.

As for the game itself, hopefully their should be a few goals. In form Mark Bentley is a key player to watch for Paul Hurst down the left hand side, along with Mike Flynn, The skipper has netted seven times from midfield this season. After the Gills 3-1 defeat to Bristol City last weekend, boss Jepson has called for his side to be more ruthless. "The good thing is that we're making the chances but we need to put them away more. But When you miss chances you lose your shape, do different things and panic and we shouldn't need to do that" he said.

It's unsure this early on how the Gills will line up, Jepson, who was foiled in a late bid to sign Leon Knight on loan from Swansea, may tinker his formation round with him expecting more of a scrap than a passing encounter. Here's the Gills stats from their game at Ashton Gate last week:

Alan Knill may well stick with the same side that performed so well against Nottingham Forest, with Lee Williamson out for some time and Michael Keane still unavailable. Justin Cochrane returns to the Gills having spent a month on loan there last season, scoring once.
