Ward - looking for safety |
The Robins travel to South Yorkshire hoping that a point will be enough if the crunch game between Bradford and Chesterfield also ends all square, but a win for John Ward's men would see their status guaranteed for another year.
They arrive looking to do the double after 2-0 win at Whaddon Road back in December. Ward is set to keep faith with a similar side and told Cheltenham's official site he doesn't want to tinker with his line up too much.
Gavin Caines will step into a midfield role rather than his preferred role of centre back, with Ward explaining his thinking behind the decision. "The idea came to me after last week's game against Blackpool to play Gavin there just for a couple of games," he said.
"I asked my staff what they thought about the idea and gave myself time to think about it. Then, when I came in this morning I had not changed my thinking so I think it's the right one for us.
"Gavin has pace, he has power, he can head the ball in both boxes, he can run at people and he can defend it when we have to so he can play in any position around the pitch."
Last time out in the 2-1 loss to Blackpool:Brown, Gill, Townsend, Duff, Armstrong, Melligan, Finnigan, Bird, Spencer (Connor 87), Odejayi, Gillespie.
Subs Not Used: Caines, Lowe, Connolly, Reid.
Booked: Melligan, Finnigan
It's anyone's guess what the Millers line up will be, as Mark Robins picks his last league team at Millmoor until August. MAD player of the year Martin Woods will return to the line up after sitting out the Yeovil defeat with a hamstring strain. He'll receive his trophy after the game in the Rotherham United Suite.
On fancy dress day at Millmoor, the club reminded fans not to run on the pitch at the end of the game this week, don't they say that every year??!...
Here's the head to head, well, the results of the three games between the two sides!
