'Dale will be strong opposition though and the game shouldn't be taken lightly by boss Mark Robins and his side, with the visitors only losing once on their travels so far this season and they came from behind to win 2-1 at Accrington with 10 men during the midweek programme.
Things may have to be shaken up too in Robins' squad, with two injury doubts in key positions. Ryan Taylor came off at Chessie with a hamstring strain and Derek Holmes has a tight calf, both will need a fitness test before the game.
If the pair fail to make it then it's likely they will be replaced by winger Peter Holmes and forward Marc Newsham as Robins reverts to a starting 4-4-2 line up.
Dale have Lee McEvilly returning to the side as he was prevented from playing at Accrington, his parent club whilst on loan at Spotland. Adam Le Fondre makes way.
Elsewhere Marcus Holness has extended his loan from Oldham and will play and there are no other fresh injury concerns for boss Keith Hill.
