Hoskins's current deal at Millmoor ends in the summer and despite talks of a new contract for Hoskins at Christmas, many fans are worried that he will be moving on during the January transfer window.
However, Knilly is looking to tie the youngster he helped bring through the ranks down before then.
Speaking to Radio Sheffield, Knill said; "At the start of the season I gave him nothing as a rise. I said look if you do well then I will rip up this contract and he has done really well. So we spoke and will sit down next week and talk about a new contract."
