Millers Chairman Tony Stewart in an interview with the official site, tells of how the search for the right person to fill the manager's vacancy is being conducted.
Mr. Stewart said:"We are now looking for a Manager with an impressive CV, plenty of hunger and ambition and someone who can take us to the next stage of the three-year plan to be in the Championship.
"I have spoken to several clubs who have had a vacant First Team Managers position and they were telling me about receiving 40 plus applicants for the job. We have had a similar number including some instantly recognisable names and a number of high profile candidates.
"We will take time to look at the candidates and then appoint someone who can take us onto the next level. Myself and the directors are sifting through the CVs, and doing our due diligence on every single candidate, we believe this approach will benefit us all and ensure we have the right man for the job."
The Millers lofty position in the league is no doubt helping to attract prospective candidates. "We have made significant investment over the last year and we are starting to see that come to fruition, we have an excellent squad of players, we have made a very good start to the season and we are in a good position. As a result we have had a great deal of interest in the position"
