"Although there have been some home wins in the last couple of months, it has generally been a difficult time for our supporters and I think we owe them a good finish. Despite the lack of success in the second half of the season, they have been excellent with their support, even in the difficult times just a short time ago." he added.
"A win would enable us to finish on a brighter note. Last time we played here ended with us losing and relegation being confirmed. It wasn't a nice feeling for anybody connected with the club. "Therefore, we want to be able to send the home fans away for the summer with a happy memory."
Even though the Millers have nothing to play for, the game still has importance for neighbours Chesterfield. Anything other than a win for the Millers would see our bogey team relegated with us also, a move which would see us no doubt gift them 6 points next season.
Mark Robins however played that down and said; "It puts a little extra edge on the game, I suppose. People have reminded us that we can do Chesterfield a favour. Fine if that happens but - and this is nothing against Chesterfield - I'm just thinking about ourselves and a win is for Rotherham United and our supporters and nobody else."
