I'll learn from the Experience - O'Donnell

O'Donnell told todays Advertiser that he's ready to make his professional debut if needed; "It's only my first year as a professional. I've played a few reserve games but I'll get more chance to do that here.

"When you are a young player, no matter what position you are, you need to be around first-team players and get the experience of that first-hand. There's nothing better than to train with them every day. I'm fit and ready to get in there if the opportunity comes along but Andy Warrington is doing well. He's good to learn from. He's a brilliant guy and he's got bags of experience."

Richard looked at his own qualities; "I have got a good kick. I'm a good communicator and I organise well. Obviously, handling is important and I like to think I'm solid with that. Being young, I do have things such as decision-making to work on but that's only to be expected.

"League Two is a good standard. I'd be more than happy to play at this level and I think Rotherham can play in a higher division."

Meanwhile boss Mark Robins revealed that O'Donnell was a target for the Millers during the close season; "We nearly took Richard on loan last summer but Steve Cann was a little bit further down the line in terms of development and that's why we went for him.

"Richard has a good presence. He's got very, very good handling and he's a good shot stopper. He's there should we need him but obviously I hope Andy Warrington keeps him out." he added.
