The big 21 year old striker has previously played in League 1 during a loan spell with Shrewsbury, with a decent scoring record as well.
Speaking to the Star today, the Liverpool born Eaves speaks about the move; “Yes, I’m happy to be here as I wasn’t playing regularly for Bolton - and the best thing for any young striker is to get out and play games. You have to prove yourself and if that means moving down to League One then that’s what you do. I played there last season and it was a good experience."
“The gaffer spoke to me about the club and thought it would be a good move for me and I agreed” added Eaves who had three other clubs wanting to take him. “I’ve come here to try and start games. It is imperative that I do play games because I want to do my utmost and it’s up to me to perform when I get the chance. The talk is of a club going forward and my loyalties right now are with Rotherham United. I hope to get this club promoted. Hopefully, my goals will contribute to that.”
“Having experienced this level last season will help but I’m disappointed I didn’t get a chance on Saturday. But if one comes my way, I’ll be doing my utmost to put it in the back of the net."
“People will look at me, 6ft 5ins, and think I’m all about the ball in the air but I prefer it on the floor. And I like getting in the box and scoring goals and, ultimately, it’s about scoring goals. If I can do that to the best of my ability then I’ll be helping the team and it will be good for myself too.”
