The Millers move into New York in July and Evans has stressed that a smooth transition is put in place for the big kick off in August.
He said to todays Tiser: “We've got to make the stadium our own and that's why we've got to get the fans in. There is no point having that stadium with 4,000 there because it wouldn't have the impact we need it to have.
“We need to be kicking off with 6,500 to 7,000 ideally and even a little less than that would be great because I'm used to kicking off in front of a lot less! “ve been up behind the goal in the home end so I know what it's like to be up there and to appreciate the views the supporters are going to get. I'll go up there again when the pitch is laid and the nets are up and, to use the old expression, you can smell it and it's ready to happen. We'll let our players smell and believe it as well.
“To give Rotherham United the success it needs, we need to live and breathe it. I'm learning every minute of every day I'm here.”
