Reid, 20, netted his 11th goal of the season by sealing the final strike in the 5-1 rout, adding to his earlier goal and first half penalty.
Reid admits a change of position, in a free floating role coming in from the right hand side helped his game, as well as his new hair style!
He joked: "I thought I needed a change but didn't like the first cut, it was a bit house-partyish, a bit Will Smith in Back in the Day, so I decided to get rid and cut it myself!"
Reid, now boasting a total skinhead, now has his first hat-trick in league football and added: "Perhaps it was lucky for me but I was delighted to get my first hat-trick and get the matchball afterwards - hopefully I'd like to think there will be many more to come.
"I'd always played as a central striker before I came here, usually with my back to goal or running at central defenders," he said.
"But to get in teams you have to adjust. I'm on the right and think I've done alright.
"It's unfamiliar for me and, previously, I'd sometimes not touch the ball in my own half. Recently, I might have done better attacking-wise but I've been helping out defensively, getting back and it's about doing my best for the team.
"Sometimes I've not featured in games as much as I could have and it's hard.
"I feel good with the ball but if I don't see it then it's important to help the team out."
