“It’s a bit surreal, to be honest, I don’t think it’s sunken in yet. I’ve congratulated the Scunny players because I thought they played well."
“Everyone’s really happy and the atmosphere tonight was electric. In fairness I asked the fans for the atmosphere to be electric and I thought it adversely affected my lot. I don’t think we started very well and we played the occasion, not the game. After the first 20 minutes I thought we did well and had enough chances to win the game. I am very proud."
“We asked them at half-time to play the game and not get too involved in the occasion and just try an move the ball a bit quicker and have more confidence on the ball. I thought we played a lot better, second-half, and could have had a couple more goals. Newelly was his usual self, unplayable at times. In fairness, I thought Marek saved us a few times. I thought he was excellent and the overall performance was one to be proud of."
“Icky was doing all right but had a bit of a tight quad and at half-time he begged me to keep him on but he started the second-half and didn’t look like he was moving right. I thought all the lads defended really well and there’s a lot of work in their legs. It was epitomised by Smudge up top – it’s a lonely place at times up there and he works hard for the team with and without the ball.
“The squad have all played a part in some way to get us here, so I’m really pleased.”
