Kayode wanted to stay at the Millers and fight for his place, with boss Steve Evans saying “He's intimated to me that he wants to give it every inch of his heart to try to stay here, who am I to deny any player that? I'm not going to.”

However 2 day's later, he has signed a year long loan deal with Paul Hurst's Shrewsbury town, which given that the 24 year old has only made 7 appearances for the Millers since 2017, means that he will not be featuring for the club again.
