With the Millers taking a 10 point deduction as punishment for entering a CVA on next seasons points tally, any manager would be wanting a 2 year contract as security.
Millers Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas told todays Star there had been "an agreement in principle," and there was "no dispute or wrangle"
"We are happy with him, with what he has done, the style of play he has brought and we feel he is a good, young manager." he added.
"We were going to announce it Saturday, but he's got a big week ahead, and we wanted to put his mind at rest and give him the best opportunity for this weekend... for his build-up to this game.
"I think everybody's gotta agree, he's done a fantastic job under the circumstances. He come in as caretaker and we'd just lost 17 games. He's picked it up from there, we could have been down and finished by now."
