"I got the players together at the end because I wanted them to go off together, sharing the disappointment but also sharing the pride, I was proud of the way they played and I felt it right they should all be together as they walked off, sharing the disappointment, sharing the crowd's applause for their efforts. They should have been proud to take the applause at the end, they deserved it." Knill said.
"It was important to show that everyone is together here. We are developing a unity, we are a team and I wanted to emphasis that to everyone. Of course, we were all gutted but we were all gutted together."
Knill then praised his players, "I don't think there's been a better performance than that down here in a long time in terms of how to keep the ball, how to pass it and how to go forward. At the moment we've got a good shape, good energy and we move the ball pretty well. The first goal epitomised everything we are about."
The team was playing a diamond formation, something that has'nt been seen from a Rotherham team in ages, "The team was set up to cause Norwich some problems and, to be honest it was set up to play against another system. But I thought, so what, let's just go for it and it caused them a lot of trouble. We spent about 35 minutes of the first half in their half."
"Obviously we are disappointed to be beaten and to be out of the Carling Cup. But we can take a lot of positives from the night." Knill finished on.
