League still remains tight - Evans

After the 0-0 draw with Barnet left the Millers in mid table on Saturday evening, the gaffer explained yesterday that it's all still early days.

He told the clubs official website: "The league lookslooks tight and that will be the case until we head towards November time. Deeper analysis will tell you that we are two points outside the play offs and another win away from being in the top three automatic promotion places.

"Before a ball was kicked I stated that we had a very difficult start to the season and nothing has changed my mind since. To date we have played one of the bottom ten teams in the league and that was Barnet when we had to play the last 20 minutes with 10 men.

"I still have every confidence that we will achieve our objectives this season. In league two last season after eight matches the four teams who ultimately won promotion were not amongst the high flyers and that included deserved run away champions Swindon Town."

Evans added: "We have high standards here and the expectation on all of us is huge but I said in the summer and I will say it again that this group will be the ones celebrating at the end of the season with the best supporters any team could wish to have behind them."
