Despite the gaffer doing his best to put MacDonald off by telling him of the clubs training regime, the 27 year old wasnt phased as he told the clubs official website.
"He was definitely trying to scare me off but I am fully up for the task ahead and dedicated to the cause, If that means buying into the ethos of the manager and the way that the club is then that is what I'm about."
"As soon as the call came in that Rotherham were interested, it was definitely something I was really happy about. It was a really positive Zoom call and from the minute I came off it, I knew what the manager was about and what the club was about and it was definitely something that I wanted to buy into.”
Prior to signing, the former Barnsley defender spoke to Ryan Williams who left the Millers last summer.
"Ry said "get your running trainers on because you've got a lot of hard work to do,” he explained. When I had the chat with him, he expressed how much he'd enjoyed it at the club and that cemented my decision.”
