McIntosh Departs Rotherham

McIntosh was signed intially on loan by Ronnie Moore from Hibs back in August 2001 and immediately produced stand out performances, forming a tight defensive partnership with Chris Swailes. He was instrumental in ensuring Division One safety in 01/02.

Farewell Macca
After making his move permenant for a fee of around 150k, Macca made 131 league and cup appearances for The Millers scoring 16 goals and he was at one point linked with an international call up for his native Scotland but that never materialised.

He suffered a serious knee injury in December 2003 that kept him out of action for ten months and he was never able to reach the same level of performance again as he was rushed back in to a struggling team last term. However, he did manage 23 appearances and finished as second top goalscorer with five goals.

The 34 year old's move to Huddersfield came about as Mick Harford signalled his intention to lose the high earners within the squad and also reduce the average age of it. He has moved for free, signing a two year deal with the West Yorkshire team, despite having a year to run on his contract at Millmoor.

Macca in full flight was synonymous with the recent good times at Rotherham, so we are sure that all Rotherham fans can join us in wishing Macca all the best for the future.
