This term, the Millers have not won since their 3-0 rout over Gillingham on September 10th and will be keen to end a slide that has seen them slip from a play off spot to two points above the relegation zone.
They will be boosted by the arrival of on loan striker Barry Conlon and the three month capture has mixed memories of Glanford Park as he scored the winning goal their for his former club Darlington on his last visit in May 2004 but received a red card in 2001 as Darlo went on to lose 7-1.
Rotherham cannot boast about their record at Glanford Park and although they won in their last visit in the League Cup in 2001, they have not recorded a win at Scunthorpe since 1983 when they won 2-1. Prior to that League Cup victory when the Millers ran out easy 2-0 winners, Rotherham have not beaten The Iron in any game since 1995.
Scunthorpe boss, Brain Laws will be keen to continue his side's excellent start to the campaign that sees them lay 6th in the league following their promotion from League Two last season. However, their 2-0 victory at Tranmere last Friday was their first points in five games following four straight defeats. Laws will also be hoping that the return of defender Andy Crosby will help plug a run of three straight home defeats.
Despite this recent blip, Scunthorpe have surprised many and Mick Harford knows this game will represent a tough task. Talking to Rotherham United's official site he said: "I have seen Scunthorpe play a couple of times and they have done well since coming up as have all the ones who were promoted last season. They have some good players and are a solid unit so it will be a difficult test for us but we have to get our season back on track. So I will be asking the players to try and turn the gas up a bit to get our season going again after a disappointing few weeks."
The game will bring two of the top scorers in the league head to head as Scunthorpe's Billy Sharp and Rotherham's Deon Burton will both be hoping to add to their tally of 8 goals, with both of them finding the net in their last outing.
Millersmad Prediction: 1-1
