Both players had the option of the club activating a further year on thier current contracts, which the Millers have taken up.
Will Vaulks who has been the subject of transfer talk and Icky will now stay with the club until the summer of 2020 at least.
Speaking to the clubs official website, themillers.co.uk Warney gave his thoughts on both of the extensions.
“Will has been instrumental in everything we’ve done since we first took charge. He is a leader on and off the pitch and is a really big part of what is a fantastic dressing room.
“By exercising this option, it gives us a bigger window of opportunity to hopefully try and sit down with Will to discuss the possibility of a longer deal.”
Ihiekwe has spent time out on loan this season, but has come back and since impressed with his performances.
“Icky has been brilliant and has displayed every quality that I require of my players here, We had an honest discussion at the start of the year, in which he told me he wanted to get out and play games. I totally respected that but also reminded him that I’d be keeping a close eye on his progress."
“I watched all of his games at Accrington and we spoke regularly. The reports that I received were always positive and we were more than happy to take him back in January. As I expected, he has continued to work hard and has subsequently earned his place in the side."
“He is now very much a part of the group here and his return has given us some really fierce competition in central defence, which can only benefit us as we head into the run-in.”
