The Cobblers sit below the Millers in the table ahead of tomorrow's game and after their 3-1 home defeat to Hereford on Tuesday night, have lost four games on the spin.
The under fire boss will have some sympathy for Millers boss Scott as two of the leagues out of form sides clash at Sixfields, but will be hoping he has the last laugh by 5pm Saturday.
Johnson told BBC Look East; "You take criticism to heart because it means something to you, if it didn't you shouldn't be in it. But what it does do is make you more determined to get it right for the people who are supporting you.
"If you're going to use anything from a run of defeats, then you learn who are the ones that are behind you. The players need help at the moment, and I'm willing to give my experience to try and help them.
"The next win will gain us a lot of confidence, and that's what we need very quickly starting with Saturdays game. Rotherham are in a pretty similar situation - they started well but they've not won for a while."
