The current run of three wins in succession equals the opening of the 2008/09 season, when that run was halted by a 0-0 draw at Brentford, who were ironically managed by Andy Scott.
And as his team prepare to play Barnet and look for their best start since 1998, Scott told the Star he was pleased after the win at Crewe showed different character to the one that disposed of Plymouth last Saturday,
“Tuesday’s win was a difficult game and perhaps we weren’t at our best in some respects but the fans were delighted and they saw Rotherham United players who gave everything and left nothing out there.
“You have to grind out results more often that people think and the players showed a lot of resilience and determination to do just that. I can’t fault them for the effort they put in. Now it’s about the right preparation for Barnet.”
Saturday's game also sees a special matchday programme and the reunion of the survivors from the 1961 League Cup final side that lost to Aston Villa. There will be a chance for fans to gain autographs, photos and see the former players paraded at half time.
