With the Gillls losing their last six matches on the spin they've dropped down the League Two table rapidly, to the frustration of boss Andy Hessenthaler.
Hessenthaler changed his entire back four for the defeat at Port Vale on Saturday, drafting in youngsters Simon King and Connor Essam in the absence of skipper Andy Frampton. Garry Richards and Joe Martin were also left out.
The boss has also shown the door to Dennis Oli and Matt Lawrence today, makiig them available to leave the club on loan as their deals expire in the summer. However It's unlikely a deal will be done for trialists Rohan Ricketts and Jonathan Fortune in time to face the Millers.
Andy Scott is looking to make it four unbeaten and could name the same Rotherham team for the fourth successive match. Saturdays point at Burton saw the same starting eleven take to the field in three successive games for the first time this season, hardly surprising given the turnaround of players.
Scott's well documented 'formula' seems to have been abandoned for something more simple in the past week and a half - naming what he believes is his strongest starters and keeping a solid shape to the side seems to have done the trick after three defeats saw the Millers lose touch with the play-off pack.
Despite the Gills' awful run, they can draw level with Rotherham if they are victorious tomorrow night and would still have a game in hand. The Priestfield is a horrible hunting ground for the Millers over the years too, and they rarely leave with anything to show for their efforts.
All the recent determination and steel will be needed to bring home at least a point that is for sure.
