After running out of most shirt sizes, the club resorted to use the shirts allocated to the team, the clubs chief operating officer Paul Douglas explained all to the Advertiser.
“It’s right that we delved into the team’s kit bag to satisfy demand. We’re not going to be signing any new players before Christmas, the transfer window is now closed so we’ve had extra shirts that we’ve been able to dip into for fans."
“We’re not looking at a situation where we wouldn’t have any kit for players on match days.”
“This situation has occurred due to the unexpected demand for this season’s shirts. Already we’ve sold 4,000, more than in the whole of last season. “That success is a side effect of opting to have our shirts produced by a reputable supplier and, although it’s led to the current situation, it remains a pleasant surprise.”
“It’s not like a hat or scarf manufacturer just down the road where we can give them a call and ask them to press the button on the production line. The kits are produced abroad by manufacturers who are supplying shirts for numerous other clubs and we’re all waiting for our slot on the production line."
“All we can do is promise fans that we will do all we can to make sure that the shirts are here in plenty of time for Christmas and that we will get them to those who have their names down for a specific size.” he added.
