Millers shortfall leads to more frustration

The shortfall means that, despite the efforts of loyal supporters, members of the Supporters Club and Rotherham United Supporters Trust, a delay seems inevitable.

Although a grant from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund is understood to be in place, negotiations regarding payment with the clubs potential contractors look like being delayed. Development work at football clubs usually takes place via an invoice payment method, however on this occasion it's suggested the Millers may have to part with money for the contractors to get things moving.

It was hoped the Millers plans for the £4 million project would be in place to give sufficient time for work to begin quickly and an initial target for completion was set to be the end of the forthcoming season.

Sadly, to many fans' frustration, this may not be the case. Club chairman Peter Ruchneiwicz told The Star that : While we have come an awful long way very quickly, this is a massive project for a club like ours”.

Meanwhile, Ruchneiwicz and the board are continuing their search for potential business investors in the project to generate much needed capital in order to take the club forward.
