The Trust has stated that it is not bringing the buckets out for the fans but is looking for local business to help keep the Millers alive during this period of uncertainty.
The club has enough funds to trade until the end of the season according to chairman Denis Coleman, but every penny will help the administrators cause.
The Trust are looking at local businesses, past and present backer and sponsors of the club to pledge money to the fund which will only be drawn out of if needed by the administrator.
The Trust have already pledged £2,000 a month into the fund in order to launch it.
Millers Trust board member John Harrison told todays Advertiser; "We want to provide funds to guarantee the administration can proceed for sufficient time to give the administrator the opportunity to negotiate a good deal for the club."
"Time is needed for all interested parties to work something out without being pressurised by being '48 hours from closure.' As a Trust, any help we can give will add crucial time to the process of resolving the problems of Rotherham United." he added.
Mark Thomas Millers Trust chairman went on to add; "Primarily, we are reaching out to the business community to help us to support the club while interested parties seek a solution. The fans have contributed tremendously over the past few difficult years and one of the best ways we can continue this support is to keep going through the turnstiles. We have a loyal and dedicated fanbase who provide home attendances which are in fact better than most in League Two."
"There is also the exciting prospect of a community stadium under serious discussion. Support from the local business community at this crucial time will be important in helping us to keep the town's football club."
Dave Nicholls will also be helping from his new home in Cyprus using his network of contacts while Dave Watson will be assisting in day to day fundraising.
Former Miller Watson - who went on to make 65 England appearances told the 'Tiser; "It's always sad when a club like Rotherham United is in a situation like this, I've got fond memories of the Millers because I had some great times there. They were a super bunch of lads back then."
"My role will be to help ring up businesses and try to get them to pledge cash for the fund. We have to try all we can to help." he added.
