At present the Millers are renting Millmoor from former chairman Ken Booth, and have told the 'Tiser that the club cannot afford to keep on paying rent on Millmoor and warned that without either a move or upgraded facilities at Millmoor the future of the club is in the balance.
Denis Coleman told the Advertiser; "These talks are crucial to the future of Rotherham United and we are as eager for answeres as the supporters are, It's frustrating for us and frustrating for them, but we are getting closer to a conclusion every day and we're seeking a meeting with the council to discover the latest state of play."
Paul Douglas added, "We always knew that the talks would take weeks rather than days. The process is complex and there have been valuation issues over the main stand. The council has to be certain of its final valuationso it knows how much leeway it has in any negotiations with the landowner."
He went on to warn, "What is certain is that we can't see a way forward for Rotherham United FC under the status quo."
The Millers really need this to work out, if it fails then it really could be the death of the club as we know it.
