Milsom has a 6 month contract with the Millers, but boss Steve Evans is hoping that in that time he can overcome injury niggles and produce the goods that he's so often promised but injury stopped.
“I have to hold my hands up to my chief scout, He saw him at Fulham and I didn't go for him. Then he went up to Aberdeen and watched him three or four times from January onwards and said 'you've got to sign him.'
“I took a final referee from Ray Lewington,He said that if I could keep Milsom fit, I'd have a top, top Championship player in League One, but he had little niggly injuries quite regularly. You have to manage that and I have to give credit to Denis Circuit and the medical team here. Plus, Milsom works hard and does running after training. He's such a good pro.”
Evans looked at Milsoms performance at Notts County and said; “A lot people think being brave is charging into people but being brave is like what Rob Milsom did. Two or three times he went into the midfield of the park and asked for the ball with people around him and played a simple pass to set us going forward. If he gives it away in that area then it's a problem but he's got the confidence not to do that.”
