“The first 10 minutes were really hectic and we didn’t have any control of the play at all,” said Warne.
“They got a goal and you are never pleased when the opposition do, but it was definitely stoppable.
“I thought that for the rest f the first half we huffed and puffed without creating a great deal. We went a little too direct to Kieffer for my liking. In the second half I thought that the lads responded to what I asked them to do at half time. I thought that it was a matter if time before we scored.
“Joe Newell went on and I thought he was the best player on the pitch. He only went on for half an hour. He got that worldy goal, and because the lads have got unbelievable confidence at the minute, they believed that they were going to win. I am not saying that we went out of shape, because we didn’t, but maybe we could have had a little more game management, and we would have been a draw.”
Looking to this weekends game at Oxford, Warne only confirmed that Newell would play; “Joe is the only one I can guarantee will definitely play, Everyone else, we will have a really good look at. There were a couple of jaded bodies out there which we will definitely have to think about changing.”
